1 green chili
1/2 inch ginger piece (adrak)

1 teaspoon cumin seed (jeera)
1 teaspoon coriander powder (dhania)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 medium tomatoes
3 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder or to taste
Salt to taste

Method:
Soak the chickpeas for 8 hrs & pressure cook till soft.
In a mixer add tomatoes, green chilies, and ginger and make a puree.
Heat the oil in a pan/kadai. Add asafetida and cumin seeds.
After the cumin seeds crack, add the puree, coriander powder, turmeric and cook for about 4
minutes on medium heat. When the tomato mixture starts leaving oil and thickens add
spinach, and salt and one cup of water and let it cook covered for 4 to 5 minutes on
low flame. Add the chickpeas and mash them lightly with a spatula .Retain the channa
cooked water and add little by little to form a good gravy like consistency and cook on low
flame for another  5 to 6 minutes. Add the garam masala & red chilli powder and mix well.
Cover the lid and turn of the flame.
