Here comes a green & healthy recipe from my kitchen

Pudina  / Mint Pulav -Go Green Go Healthy

Ingredients:

1 Cup basmati rice
 2 handful of pudina(mint) leaves
3-4 green chillies,4-5 flakes of garlic
 ½ inch ginger piece
3-4 cloves
3-4 black pepper corns
1 inch of cinnamon stick
2tbsp of fresh grated coconut
2 onions,1 big tomato, 1/4cup of green peas fresh /frozen/soaked
1tsp garam masala, 2 tbsp oil, salt to taste.

Method:

 Wash n soak basmati rice for ½ an hr. Drain all water n add peas n pressure cook with 1& ½ cups of water .Allow it to cool.

In a mixer add pudina (mint) leaves, green chilies, garlic, ginger, pepper corns, cloves, cinnamon stick, grated coconut, 1 small onion chopped and grind with little water to bring it to a thick paste.

In a thick bottomed pan add oil when heated add chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Add the above pureed paste and chopped tomatoes and cook for 4-5 mins. Add salt n garam masala .Also add the cooked rice and mix well. Cover n cook on low flame for 1-2mins.

Serve hot with raita or plain yogurt!
