6 Cups Burfi

Happy Navratri to all !

My kitchen is all in festive mood ....

So here comes from my Grand Veg Kitchen...
6 Cups Burfi –A very easy to do & heavenly tasting sweet!
 Ingredients:
1 Cup Besan /Gram Flour
1 Cup Milk                                                            
1 Cup Ghee /Clarified butter
1 Cup fresh grated coconut or powdered cashew nut or powdered almond
2 Cups Sugar
Method:
Put all the above ingredients in a heavy bottomed pan and set on low flame. Keep stirring from below with a spatula for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Now you will see that the whole mixture is turned thick and leaving ghee from sides.
Put the mixture on the backside of the plate greased with a little ghee.
Pat it to flat with a help of rolling pin/belan greased with a very little ghee.
Cut it into burfi shapes with the help of the tip of the knife.
Cool n serve
Tips:
If you are a health freak then cut down on ghee to 3/4th cup.
To enhance the taste add a pinch of cardamom powder when the mixture gets thick.
To make it richer you can also add flakes of almond and pistachios on top before using the rolling pin.
Coconut can also be alternated with one cup of cashew nut or almond powdered to have a good variation of tastes.
